Zari does well in photography competition

Ballajura Community College and The Arts Department would like to congratulate Year 11 Design student Zari Hussaini on being awarded second place in the 2017 St George’s College Red/White Photography Competition with her photograph titled ‘Attraction’.

St George’s College, located in Crawley, is the oldest residential college at the University of Western Australia. The photography competition is an annual event, open to all secondary  school students in Western Australia. $2000 in prize money is awarded, with $750 going to first place, $500 to second, and $250 to third, plus a separate award for College residents.

This years’ theme was red/white, with interpretation left up to the individual.

Mr Bryans, Design  teacher, said BCC would also like to congratulate Mellissa Barber and Lucas Cox (also from Year 11 Design), who were accepted into the exhibition as well.

“2017 has been a successful year for BCC students studying design, with several entries and awards in various competitions,” he said.

“In 2018 BCC will be even more predominant for our creative and skilled students.”
