The Wall of Fame
2009 Inductees
The 2009 Wall of Fame Inductees were honored at a special ceremony at the College on Tuesday 22nd September.
To be eligible for induction to the Wall of Fame nominations are submitted to the Honours and Colours Committee. Recipients must have won an award or title at either state or national level or been selected in a national team. The recipient will have been recognized by an accredited state or national organization. In addition the person must have exhibited a positive role model whilst at the College and the wider community.
A number of Wall of Fame inductees
from previous years attended the evening. We welcomed back
and acknowledged as fine ambassadors of the College, Jesse Bowland- Curtis, Jimmy
Dang, Ashlee Kovalevs, Alecia Lovelock, Alyce Patroni, Kylie Patroni, Shane
Priolo and Kirby Smith.
This year there were 4 inductees to the 2008 Wall of Fame. The Hon, Graham Edwards was the Guest speaker and Luke Simpkins MP assisted with the presentations.

2009 Inductees

Dennis Rawlins
Dennis, a Year 12 student has been competing in Taekwondo from an
early age. In 2008 he won the
National Junior Black Belt title in 59-63 kg division. This year he has won the state Junior
black Belt title in 63-68kg division.
He also represented Australia at the Malaysian Open Taekwondo
Championships competing against competitors from 12 other countries and winning
a gold medal in his division. We
wish him well at the national championships to be held in November.

Lee Robinson
Year 12 Student Lee Robinson’s
talents and achievements are in Baseball.
Like many gifted athletes Lee originally played Lacrosse and
Baseball. In the 3 years 2005-2007
he played in state under-age Lacrosse and Baseball teams at National tournaments
In 2008 Lee’s baseball ability
was recognized and he is the youngest player to play State League. For the past 2 years he has competed in
the Under 18 State Team at the National championships and this year the team
was placed 2nd
Lee was ranked No 1 pitcher at
this championship.
Furthermore he received an offer to attend the 2009 Major League Baseball
Australian Acadamy Program. He is
currently on the Perth Heat Baseball roster and aspires to gain a professional
contract in the American Baseball League.

Nicholas Gabriel
Hockey has been a significant
part of Nicholas Gabriel’s sporting career since he was in year 7 competing in
U13 regional competitions. He was
selected to represent WA in U15 and U16 National tournaments in 2005
and 2007. In 2008 he represented
Australia as the Goalkeeper in the U18 School Sport Boys hockey tour to Sth
Africa where the team won the 4 test series convincingly.
This year Nick has again been selected in the U18 WA team, that at the
National Championships was ranked 2nd. His highly rated goal keeping skills make him a worthy
inductee.

David Gulland
David Gulland commenced at BCC in 1996 and in his final year in 2002 was elected school
captain. David's award
recognizes service to his profession and to the St John Ambulance WA
volunteers.
As a pharmacist David designed
and marketed Pharmacards, a unique flash card system to assist students
studying pharmacy, nursing and medicine.
These are now being marketed directly to universities throughout
Australia.
Over the past 11 years David
has given outstanding service as a St John Ambulance Volunteer. In 2006 he represented Australia in International
1st aid competitions in New Zealand.
In 2006, 2008 & 2009 he was
a winner in state individual and team events. He is currently the divisional manager of the Morley Cadets
mentoring youth 8-18 yrs. In
recognition of his achievements David has
won the citizenship category and has been a finalist in the leadership
and youth categories of the WA Youth Awards.
David’s award is the 1st
service accolade on the Wall of Fame and he is to be congratulated
