We are very proud to celebrate Ms Krystal McKnight – our Head of The Arts – in winning the Woods Furniture – Innovative Leadership: Aspirant Award, which was presented at the recent WASSEA conference.

The Innovative Leadership: Aspirant Award is offered to a WASSEA member who aspires to a deputy or principal’s position. The award will provide the opportunity for Ms McKnight to further develop her leadership skills through engaging in action research or professional learning.

She will be acknowledged on an honour board and will receive $1500 from Woods Furniture for use towards professional learning, to be used within 12 months of receiving the award.

Ms McKnight is conducting some fabulous research into how creativity and critical thinking skills are being taught and improved throughout the Arts learning area. This along with her continuing studies will soon see her achieve a PhD.
