Following the ANZAC Assembly the Hon. Minister of Education, Tourism & Women’s Interests Dr Elizabeth Constable unveiled the ANZAC Ribbons - soaring glass panels representing campaign ribbons of servicemen in four conflicts that are situated at the entrance to the Senior Campus.
The ANZAC Ribbons project began as a vision by artist in resident Mr Gregory White, supported by the RSL and TAFE WA (Perth). Senior History students under the direction of Ms Deborah Doyle researched biographies of service men and women from the local community. Stories and photographs are embedded in glass panels representing The 1st World War, The 2nd World War, The Vietnam War and East Timor conflicts. Included in the panels is commemoration for ex student Private Jamie Clark who died on active service in the Solomon Islands. Digital Design students and staff member Mr Ronnie Moore prepared the panels ready for casting in glass. Year 12 students together with service men and women joined the official party at the Unveiling Ceremony. A morning tea prepared and served by Master Class students and staff in the Performing Arts Centre followed the ceremony and provided a fitting end to a truly memorable morning.
