The Hon. Julie Bishop, MP, Federal Member for Curtin, Minister for Education, Training and Science and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women's Issues visited Ballajura Community College today. Ms Bishop was greeted by the Ballajura Police Rangers and College Executive.

Ms Bishop briefly toured the Middle School grounds including the Ballajura Peace Park and War Memorial (partly funded by Federal Government grants).

The Minister then addressed students and staff in the new Tiered Learning Area before presenting the College with a plaque commemorating the Middle School Shade project which was funded by the Federal Government's "Investing in our Schools" programme.

During morning tea Ms Bishop took time to discuss with staff some issues relating to national curriculum and other current education issues.
